So much files to download - what do I need out of all of them? Do I need to patch and crack and activate? What is Lite edition of Delphi? What is missing? Come on - except from copy-pasting from Embarcadero product description you could provide some info over files and what is used when.

I know Delphi is hard for beginners, maybe after a decade or so you recognize the difference between a tool for real professionals and that for the common.
The main problem with Delphi is 3rd party components. You build an application using a set of components afterwards those components' companies are either out of business or not supporting new releases for Delphi. Moreover new releases of Delphi starting from fire-monkey phased-out almost all VCL-based applications. Finally, we spend a fortune to buy a set of components for one project and with a new release of Delphi, you need to upgrade them all and start over again and so on...
